Jollof Rice Made from Varo Jollof Sauce

Jollof Rice isn't merely a dish; it's a celebration of diversity and heritage of West Africa - a staple at celebrations and family gatherings. Jollof Rice is a harmonious blend of rice, tomatoes, peppers, and a medley of spices. Here's how to make it at home using our very own Varo Jollof Sauce!

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle Varo Jollof Sauce Medium
  • 60ml vegetable oil
  • 400g washed rice
  • 80g tomato paste
  • 700ml of water
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • In a sauce pan, add vegetable oil and allow to heat up
  • Empty bottle of Varo Jollof Sauce Medium into already heated oil and leave to cook for 1 minute
  • Add tomato paste and a pinch of salt and stir to combine. Allow to fry for 3 minutes
  • Pour rice into the tomato mix and stir thoroughly to combine. Cover and leave to cook for 2 minutes under low heat
  • Add water to the rice and cook under low heat till sauce is absorbed, stirring thoroughly every 5 to 10 minutes
  • Your Jollof Rice might burn a little at the bottom, but not to worry, that's what gives it that "Smoky Jollof " flavour

Bon Appetit!
