How to Make Coconut Jollof Rice

Remember the Coconut Jollof from childhood? We recreated it by swapping 400 ml of water with coconut milk. Recreate this deliciousness at home! Watch the video below and follow the easy recipe to enjoy authentic Nigerian flavours.

Coconut Jollof Rice Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle Varo Jollof Sauce Medium
  • 60 ml vegetable oil
  • 400 gm Golden Sella Rice
  • 80 grams tomato paste
  • 300 ml water 
  • 400 ml coconut milk
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  • Heat vegetable oil in a saucepan
  • Add Varo Jollof Sauce Medium and cook for 1 minute
  • Stir in tomato paste and a pinch of salt, fry for 3 minutes
  • Add rice, stir to combine, and cook for 2 minutes on low heat
  • Add water and coconut milk, and cook on low heat, stirring every 5-10 minutes until fully absorbed
  • Don’t worry about a little burn at the bottom – that’s the smoky Jollof flavour we love!
