How to make Jambalaya Rice with Varo Jollof Sauce

Jambalaya rice has a rich history, blending influences from West Africa, France, and Spain. Now, let’s give this classic a nutritious twist with Varo Jollof Sauce! Let's dive into this flavorful journey!

 

Ingredients
​•​1 Varo medium jollof sauce
​•​100g tomato paste
​•​400g long grain rice washed
​•​1/2 red bell peppers
​•​1/2 yellow bell pepper
​•​1/2 green bell pepper
​•​2 hot dogs or sausage sliced
​•​100g shrimp peeled and deveined
​•​250g chicken breasts cut into little bits
​•​1 onion sliced
​•​1 tbsp unsalted butter
​•​1 tbsp ginger/garlic paste
​•​1 green onion sliced
​•​1/2 cup vegetable oil

Spices
​•​1/2 tsp salt
​•​1 tsp black pepper
​•​1 tsp paprika
​•​1/2 tsp Thyme
​•​1/2 tsp oregano



Instructions
-Add vegetable oil into pan
-Add Varo sauce and stir properly
-Add tomato paste and mix to combine
-Add already washed rice and mix
-Cover up for 2 minutes
-Add water and allow to cook
-In a heated pan add some salted butter
-Add all your proteins ( sausage, shrimp, chicken breast)
-Add your ginger and garlic paste and saute till the protein is 80% cooked
-Add your onion and stir
-Add your bell peppers and stir thoroughly
-Add your spices and cook for a minute
—Open your rice and give it a good mix
-Add your protein and vegetables mix and give it a good stir
-Cover and allow to cook for 2 minutes
-Serve with any protein of choice
